Nepal to brand her tourism products

With a view to enhancing Nepal's image as a premier tourist destination in the international tourism market, Nepal is going to rebrand her tourism products.
"An internationally recognised professional organisation is working on this," said Tek Bahadur Dangi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
Mr. Dangi disclosed this at a gathering organised to mark the 7th anniversary of NTB on December 30, 2005. According to him, Nepal's new tourism brand will be disclosed this month in Nepal. "We will launch this next month in India and in March in Berlin," he said.
He hoped that the new branding of the country's tourism products would be helpful in giving a boost to the slacked tourism industry.

Speaking as the chief guest, Chief Secretary of His Majesty's Government, Mr. Lok Man Singh Karki urged all the stakeholders of tourism to work together to promote the country's unique products. He also launched NTB's Souvenir that reflects various activities carried out by the board in 2005.
Keynote speaker at the anniversary function was Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Board (SLTB) Mr. Udaya Nanayakkara. He shed light on various measures taken by Sri Lanka for tourism promotion during the critical times. He also called for strengthening public-private partnership for effective tourism promotion.
Highlighting Nepal's various tourism products, he said Nepal could reap much benefit from tourism if necessary efforts are made for promotion.
Delivering his welcome address, Mr. B. K. Shrestha, Vice-Chairman of Executive Committee of NTB, emphasised the need for more aggressive marketing activities to explore vast tourism potential of Nepal.
On the occasion, Mr. Govind Prasad Pandey, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), said that NTB has greater roles to play for tourism promotion.
