Nepal: 0-5000 in 2 weeks - Bluelist - Lonely Planet

Airport Days (Nepal)
Even a 10min flight in Nepal takes a full day. People-watching is a most amusing airport stake-out activity; 3 men with 1 tiny bag and 12 cases of beer, monks checking-in a solid staircase for a distant temple and a Japanese group with bento boxes.

Flying on a Yeti (Nepal)
Ribbons of gold trace the path through the thrilling Himalayas that skirt our matchbox-sized, twin-propellered Yeti Airlines. The pilot so close he's almost on your lap. No scotch on offer, for those with fear, but caramels and cotton wool, for ears.
---
Mo-Mo's (Nepal)
No, not the overweight clothing option. Delicate steamed dumplings dipped in a mouth-watering spicy tomato relish. These contrasting flavours are the epitome of Nepali flavours - chilli, garlic, ginger, tomato and onion. Totally addictive!
---
The Waters of Pokhara (Nepal)
Admiring the peacefulness of the ancient boats on the lake in Pokhara - how was I to know that the crowd forming around me were mourning the washed-up corpse at my feet...
---
Rainforest Trekking (Nepal)
Trekking through a heavenly rainforest, glistening with dew and faeces, the air is so thick that glasses keep fogging up. The rocks are mossy and slippery, but a sherpa's hand is always there to prevent a plundering death. A shaft of light appears.
---
Excretion Exercises (Nepal)
Our most inventive game had our group partnering the faeces with it's owner... was it monkey droppings? Buffalo excretion? Or perhaps goat deposits? Oh dear, that one looks a tad human-like...
---
You Can See The Sky! (Nepal)
Mars screams red next to the glowing Milky Way. A clear night leads to the perfect sunrise. The mountains glow a pink farewell on one side and the foresty mountains peak out of the mists on the other. Red sun and pink clouds rise in welcome.
---
Washing What You Wear (Nepal)
Alternating tshirts, one on and one drying on the back of your daypack. Clothes hung on the tent past dusk come back drenched with fog and mist. Cleansing for the clothes but troublesome when all your clothes are on the line!
---
Eyes Are Closing... (Nepal)
A bit of extra weight around the waist is most useful for the long hours sleeping on sharp rocks. Swop the teddy bear for clothing-wrapped bottles filled with boiling water. Next day's clothes at the foot of the sleeping bag, to keep dry.
---
November Days (Nepal)
The surrounding mountains peak above the mist. Covered completely in green trees save for one mountain which sports a single autumn-red rebel. Inside the trees; moss, little flowers and masses of fallen autumn leaves cover the ground.
